The versatile platform of the STENTYS stent makes the treatment of de-novo lesions possible in all coronary arteries. The self-expanding properties of the stent guarantee a perfect apposition to the artery wall, and the short stent segments enable remarkable conformability.
Furthermore, when the lesion is close to a side branch, the STENTYS disconnectable stent mesh allows the creation of a custom opening AFTER the stent is implanted, providing unparalleled access to significant side branches while conforming to complex non-cylindrical anatomy.
The STENTYS procedure is performed in three simple steps:
1.The STENTYS stent is implanted in the main vessel over a single wire, without any specific positioning related to the side branch;
2. if access to the side branch is required, a guidewire and a balloon are advanced through the stent mesh;
3. a low pressure balloon inflation disconnects the connectors and creates the opening - the self-expanding property of the STENTYS stent allows the in situ modeling of the stent to fit the patient’s unique arterial anatomy.
