The STENTYS disconnectable stent mesh allows the creation of a custom opening AFTER the stent is implanted : the stent provides unparalleled access to significant side branches and conforms to complex non-cylindrical anatomy.
The STENTYS procedure is performed in three simple steps, like a “provisional” procedure:

1. The STENTYS stent is implanted in the main vessel over a single wire, like a standard stent, without any specific positioning related to the side branch;

2. if access or treatment of the side branch is required, a guidewire and a balloon are advanced through the stent mesh;

3. a low pressure balloon inflation disconnects the connectors and creates the opening—the self-expanding property of the STENTYS stent allows the in situ modeling of the stent to fit the patient’s unique arterial anatomy.
